International Welding Engineer (IWE) and International Welding Technologist IWT
The course leads to a diploma which is required according to ISO 3834 and ISO 14731
The course contents/ Syllabus are designed by International Institute of Welding and correspond to the requirements of industrial practice. Complete details are given in the IAB document IAB-252-r5-19 which can be downloaded from this website.
The course will be of great interest to engineers, technologists, welding coordinators or work managers in the following fields:Process plants, structural steelwork, bridges, pressure vessels, pipework and pipelines, storage tanks, offshore structures, earth moving equipment, ship-building and ship repairing, general heavy machinery, power generator equipment and for material testing.
ELIGIBILITY
IWE : B.E degree in Mechanical, production, manufacturing, Metallurgical engineering or equivalent degrees such as AMIE, AMIIM, AMIIW etc..
IWT: Diploma in mechanical, manufacturing, Metallurgical engineering or equivalent
Candidates with 2-3 years of experience in the manufacturing/ fabrication industry are preferable.
EXAMINATIONS
Exams will be conducted by Indian Institute of Welding – Authorized National Body (IIW-ANB) and Diploma certificates will be awarded by International Institute of Welding
